As we recently celebrated our countries 250th Birthday, a friend and I were reflecting on what our country is founded on-community. The phrase “We the People” started from a unified group of individuals committed to a common purpose. Here in American Falls, we come together in celebration, service, mourning, and collaboration to build a brighter future for our community. It is these dedicated individuals who transform our town into a true community.

There is great strength in collective service and in neighbors helping one another. Take a moment to look around and consider how you can contribute to those who have already given so much.

Our police and first responders dedicate long hours to ensure our safety and protection. A heartfelt thank you goes out to them and to their families for the sacrifices they make on behalf of our community.

I also want to express gratitude to all who serve in our community in various ways. Our Nation’s foundation is built not just in grand gestures, but within our homes and neighborhoods.

What is a country without the essence of community? As we honor America’s 250th birthday, let us unite in our efforts to enhance our community. By reaching out to those in need and embracing gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy, we can continue to strengthen the bonds that hold us together.
