A Message From The Mayor

Welcome to American Falls

The City of American Falls is a tight-knit community in Southeastern Idaho, home to about 4,400 people. It’s tough to pick just one thing that makes this place special—there’s a lot to like.

We’ve got great parks, what I’d argue is the best 9-hole golf course in the state, and the American Falls Reservoir, which holds over a million acre-feet of water—perfect for boating, fishing, or just spending time outdoors. Below the dam, the Snake River offers some of the best fishing around.

Our schools are strong, the library is impressive, and you’ll find local business owners who are proud of what they do. There are a handful of solid restaurants, good camping spots, the Power County Museum, and churches of various denominations. History buffs will appreciate how close we are to key sites along the Oregon Trail.

If you’re into wildlife, there are top-notch bird watching areas, a state-run fish hatchery on the river, and a great walking and biking path near Willow Bay.

We’re just 15 miles from Pocatello Regional Airport and centrally located near some of the West’s most iconic spots—Sun Valley, Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Salt Lake City, and Boise are all within a couple hours’ drive.

Whether you’re visiting or thinking about putting down roots, I hope you take the time to experience all that American Falls has to offer. It’s a good place to be.

Our Mission Statement:

Provide and friendly, diverse, and positive atmosphere for the citizens of American Falls while creating community pride and growth opportunities for all.
